Covid-19 Update and Return to Routine Dentistry

Dr. Bingham is all ready to welcome patients back and return to routine dentistry.

Dear Friends and Patients,

We hope you and your loved ones continue to be well.

The last several weeks have been marked by unexpected challenges and severe limitations for all of us. The current infection figures give us reason to hope that we can now gradually begin a return to normalcy. Over the last couple months we remained open to treat emergencies only. Now the California Department of Public Health has deemed all routine and preventative dental care is permitted. Good dental health is integral to overall wellbeing and a healthy immune system, so we will do our best to get you in for treatment as soon and safely as possible!

We have always been dedicated to the highest standard of care when it comes to infection control; this will not change. We always use high-speed suction during treatment, disinfect all surfaces between patients, sterilize all dental instruments prior to treatment, wash our hands frequently, and wear personal protective equipment such as eyewear, gowns, masks and gloves. We are now taking additional precautions to keep both you and our staff safe, which you can expect to see at your next visit. These include:

  • HEPA/UV-3 air filters in each operatory to facilitate removal of aerosols
  • N-95 masks for all clinical staff, & surgical masks for our front desk staff
  • A new plexiglass screen at the front desk
  • Clinical staff will be wearing face shields and disposable gowns
  • Screening of all patients with infrared thermometers at the door
  • Frequent temperature checks of all staff
  • Peroxide rinse prior to any dental treatment
  • Social distancing measures, including staggering appointment times to limit the number of people in the office at any time

In preparation for your visit, please wear a mask and let us know if you, or anyone you have been in contact with, have contracted Covid-19, including any test results. You may be asked to wait in your car or outside before your appointment to limit the time you spend in the waiting room. You will also be asked to use sanitizer, or to wash your hands, before and after your visit with us.

Thank you so much for your ongoing patience with us during these uncertain times. Despite these changes, we look positively into the future. Together, we will overcome this crisis and better times will follow. We look forward to seeing you again!

All the best,

Dr.Shempp, Dr. Bingham & Staff
